 Proof of Attendance

Throughout this course, we have learned about the different connections art and design media has with many outside fields. We have compared arts with mathematics and more recently discussed the connections between art and robotics. The event I attended made a very strong and interesting connection between science and arts. The event I attended was one in which Anna Lindemann, an artist and educator, showed how she connects the two fields. In her work, she creates very artistic animations and representations of animals and figures to portray the scientific nature of evolution. Evo Devo is a scientific field that looks at evolutionary developmental biology of different species. Lindemann then creates amazing portrayals of these patterns through her expertise in art and design. 

In this specific presentation "The Colony", she presented her artistic animation describing the social nature of ants and its connections to humans. By incorporating a prominent artistic element to her work, learning about these beings becomes much more interesting. This example shows how art can be used as such a powerful tool in regards to different fields. for me personally, the art and design she uses in her works makes learning about what she is trying to get across much more interesting. Additionally, I believe it also simplifies the messages in a way that makes it more understandable to all. Because of this, I suggest others should experience this event. I think it does a very good job incorporating many concepts we have learned thus far in the course and how art and design can relate to pretty much everything. My experience at this event was a very positive one and I believe others should experience it as well.
